Mercedes Angels Foundation was born from a deep passion for community, a commitment to youth, and a desire to continue a legacy of service.

Founder and CEO Catherine Mercedes was inspired to create Mercedes Angels Foundation by the life and legacy of her late father. He believed in the importance of giving back, supporting young people, and helping others see beyond their circumstances. His commitment to youth development left a lasting impression on Catherine and became the foundation for her own purpose.

After his passing, Catherine knew that carrying on his legacy meant more than remembering him—it meant continuing the work he believed in.

Catherine is passionate about creating opportunities for young people, particularly those growing up in underserved communities. She believes that every young person deserves access to positive role models, education, enrichment, mentorship, and opportunities that can change the direction of their lives.

Through Mercedes Angels Foundation, Catherine is committed to finding and developing programs that meet young people where they are and help elevate them to where they can be.

Her vision is rooted in prevention and empowerment. Rather than allowing young people to become products of their environment, Mercedes Angels seeks to provide alternatives—safe spaces, mentorship, education, enrichment activities, career exposure, and family support that can help youth envision a different future.

Catherine understands that many challenges facing young people can be connected to generational trauma, limited opportunities, family struggles, and circumstances beyond their control. She believes that breaking these cycles requires more than conversation. It requires investment, consistency, resources, and people who are willing to show up.

Her goal is to help create pathways that keep young people out of the criminal justice system and connected to opportunities that allow them to learn, grow, lead, and thrive.

But Catherine's vision extends beyond youth. She believes strong youth development begins with strong families and communities. That is why Mercedes Angels Foundation also seeks to support parents and caregivers by connecting families with resources, education, planning tools, and community-based programs.

At the heart of the organization is Catherine's personal commitment to seeing things through. She believes that starting something is only the beginning—the real impact comes from staying committed, building partnerships, finding solutions, and continuing to show up even when the work becomes difficult.
